Airway Management


COURSE DESCRIPTION

Airway Management is a unique program designed to give students the chance to learn, practice and demonstrate their ability in applying many airway skills used in resuscitation. Students increase their awareness of various airway products and skills required. The course is designed into units, and some are optional, so facilitators can present the units that meet the students’ needs.

Course Contents:

Bag-mask ventilation and airway adjuncts

Optional:
• Laryngeal mask airway
• Esophageal-tracheal combitube
• Endotracheal tube
• Impedance threshold devise

Course Format:

Classroom-based (instructor and video, with skills conducted throughout)

Instruction of all modules requires 5 hours.
Course length can vary depending on needs and the units taught.

CERTIFICATION:

Certificate of Completion. This course does not provide AHA course card certification, but instead is designed solely to enhance students’ airway management skills.

In the classroom, an Airway Management Facilitator conducts video-guided instruction and skill demonstrations, and works with students to complete hands-on skills practice and skills testing.

Includes five individual modules that can be taught together as a course or used as add-ons to a BLS for Healthcare Providers or an ACLS course. The student guide is designed for use by students before, during, and after the course as a resource. Modules are designed for facilitator-led, small-group interaction and small-group skills-testing stations. Module one covers bag-mask ventilation and airway adjuncts. Written Exam

  • For the Airway Management course level, there is a written exam (Multi-Choice) of which you will be required to pass with at least 84%
